Who we are
TURGET UGANDA is a Non Government Organization which aims at improving Reproductive Health Rights of young people below the age of 25 years and women in partnership with men in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The organization will assist young people below the age 25years and women to improve on their socio-economic status and lives using an integrated approach in partnership with men.
Turget Uganda is a growing organization whose slot is to contribute towards improving the level of Reproductive Health services and standards of living of young people below the age 25 and women in Uganda through increasing access, advocacy, empowerment in partnership with men and working with other development actors.
Uganda with a healthy and socio -economically empowered young people and women accessing quality, adequate, and equitable sexual and reproductive health services.
To contribute towards raising the level of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services and Standards of Living of young people and women in Uganda through increasing access, advocacy, empowerment in partnership with men and working with other development actors.
Commitment: - We are devoted to being the best we can be. To achieve this, we place youth and marginalised persons at the center of everything we do. We consistently deliver on expectations and go the extra mile to get the job done. We approach everything with “It-can-be-done attitude.
Humility: - In our work and practice we recognize that we are part of a wider alliance against discrimination and inequalities among the youth and marginalised persons.
Accountability: Being open and honest in all our conduct and maintaining the utmost integrity at all times; we share our knowledge and offer our expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Excellence: We deliver the highest quality and value possible through simple and relevant solutions and innovations.
1.To promote friendly, indiscriminate sexual reproductive health rights, behavior and practices
2.To provide information, education and communication (IEC) through appropriate media including seminars, workshops, computers, conferences, community out reaches and recreational activities on sexual and reproductive health and Rights to young people and women in partnership with men in line with MDGs.
3.To promote social economic empowerment of young people and women through trainings in entrepreneurship, vocational and business skills, carrier guidance and psych - social support.
4.To conduct action oriented research, dissemination, publication on issues pertinent to sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people and women.
5.To advocate and lobby for issues pertinent to sexual and reproductive health and rights for young people and women in partnership with other likeminded organization.
6.To heighten our profile and mandate, strengthen our internal capacities, support systems and infrastructure that will enable us provide efficient and effective SRH services for young people and women.
METHOD OF WORK
Using human rights based approaches (HRBA) that entails interventions to transform the lives and positions of women and young people.
TURGET – Uganda has four (4) main Program Areas namely;
1) Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV/AIDS;
2) Sexual Violence Education and Interventions;
3) Menstrual Health Education for Young Women;
4) Safe Abortion Advocacy and Capacity Building
TURGET – Uganda OWNERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE
TURGET – Uganda was founded by two women who invited one man to support the registration and incorporation. TURGET – Uganda have the following structures, which act and exercise powers and authority subject to and in accordance with the constitution.
